Abstract
This case study explains how the Promoting Responsible Governance of Investments in Land project introduced a monitoring process for agricultural and forestry investments in Laos. It describes annual visits, company assessments against environmental and social criteria, the mobile monitoring application and the recording of community concerns. It also discusses early results and the training and coordination needed to apply the approach elsewhere.
