This GIZ good-practice publication describes a beneficiary contributory model for customary land demarcation and registration in Uganda. The Responsible Land Policy in Uganda project piloted the approach in the Teso subregion between 2016 and 2022 and subsequently extended it to the Lango subregion.
The approach combines contributions from landholders with existing government and community structures. The Bululu pilot tested how local communities could help finance registration while addressing gaps in the resources available for land administration.
