This implementation manual describes a self-financing approach to customary land registration in Uganda developed under the Responsible Land Policy in Uganda (RELAPU) project. It explains how landholders’ contributions, local government and community structures can support the documentation of customary land rights.
The model places the subcounty chief or recorder at the center of local implementation and oversight. It aims to make land registration services more accessible and sustainable while supporting the recognition of customary tenure.
