Godfrey Massay is a Tanzanian lawyer and Tanzania Program Director at Landesa. His work addresses land rights, environmental justice, and human rights, with particular experience in resolving land disputes, advancing women’s land rights, reforming land policy, and supporting the rights of pastoralists and Indigenous Peoples. He combines legal research and policy advocacy with training for communities, local government officials, journalists, and civil society organizations. Source
Before joining Landesa in 2017, Godfrey worked with the Land Rights Research and Resources Institute (HAKIARDHI) and the Tanzania Natural Resources Forum. He holds a Bachelor of Laws with honors from the University of Dar es Salaam.
