Approach and country activities
GP Land supports international and regional networks in bringing land governance into global policy forums. It advises policymakers and supports dialogue on incorporating land rights in development strategies, plans and legislation.
GIZ identifies three areas of country work. In Madagascar, the project supports community land, agroecology and forests. In Nigeria, it is developing services for women-led businesses. In Zambia, it promotes agroforestry and land-use planning. These are planned project activities and should not be read as completed outcomes.
The project links land rights with responsible investment, food systems, climate and biodiversity policy. GIZ lists gender equality, biodiversity, climate adaptation and combating desertification among its significant policy objectives.
